This series contains correspondence, reports, publications, minutes, and exhibits regarding the introduction of the Lutheran Book of Worship to the congregations of the four church bodies that participated in the ILCW. Materials date from the mid-to late 1970s and are arranged alphabetically. Files include records of the Training Events coordinated and held by the committee and copies of LBW material used in the events. Also significant are the Steering Committee minutes and exhibits dating from 1975 to 1979.

The Rev. Ralph Van Loon was a staff member of the Lutheran Church in America's (LCA) Division for Parish Services (DPS). He was Secretary for Worship and Church Architecture in the DPS Department for Parish Support from 1975 through 1987. He also served as the LCA's Coordinator for Worship.
